Rescue date: 17 December, 2020'

Initial status:

The case of Rô was reported when a passer-by saw him near a diner in Son Tra district. After talking to the staff of the diner, Rô was claimed to have been around this area to forage for leftovers. His status was then reported back to our Team and we hurriedly took him in.

We then found out that he had been around the area since the outburst of COVID-19 pandemic. In the morning when the diner was open, Rô would go outside and wait, and when it was closed, he sneaked into the warehouse to spend the night. Every staff member knew Rô, but only the owner of the place noticed him in the warehouse at night. Everybody was sorry for him, so no one attempted to shoo him away.

The process of taking him to our place was nothing special, regarding the fact that it was conducted quite effortlessly. Rô is a male dog with a feeble health condition as he couldn’t control his breath. In addition, he always had a runny nose as well as stinky nasal mucus. His blood test reports indicated that he was infected with babesiosis. Surprisingly enough, he was also positive to —--. As time went by, Rô eats more, has a less frequent runny nose and more positive blood reports.

Current status:

Rô is now in good health. However, because of the outcomes of Care disease, Rô still sometimes has a runny nose and mucus. He’s also a case that might have to live with our fostering volunteers or inhabit our clinic for a long time, with a thin glimmer of hope that he can find a new home.
